This episode is a radio(hagio)graphy about Brigid: Saint of Kildare and Irish pagan goddess. We have devoted this episode to Brigid for two reasons: because of her timely status as the goddess of spring and all the rebirth it entails; and because Brigid is said, in Irish mythology, to have started the traditional Gaelic/Celtic lament, Keening (the singing of tears) – which is still practiced at funerals today – when her son Ruadán was killed in the second battle of Moytura. We recently lost a young lad who was very dear to us, and so this show is also dedicated to the memory of Harper… we’ll be keening for you.
