Jitwam is a Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist producer + vocalist whose work, including two acclaimed LPs - ‘ज़ितम सिहँ’ and ‘Honeycomb - has critical acclaim. Having featured on Moodymann’s DJ Kicks compilation, played at festivals across the world and become a mainstay of the underground in the past few years, Jitwam is influenced by the culture around him, incorporating sounds from around the world while experimenting with melodies and songwriting. Born in Assam, India and raised in Sydney, Australia, he was introduced to electronic music whilst living in London, where his songwriting turned and allowed him to use the rock influences he grew up with, melding them into tightly melodic, luxuriously layered production. He is also the co-founder of the seminal label The Jazz Diaries and helped establish arts collective and label, Chalo.
